Current and future strategies and tactics for corporate network structures.

Summary

Network strategies for the connected business have become complex and all-encompassing. These strategies are under continual review in line with business change, new technology adoption and the drive to provide 'universal access' not only to in-house systems but increasingly internet-provided services and applications.

Today's businesses are global or multi-sited, with multiple commercial channels, partnerships, aggressively virtualising, adopting tele- and videoconferencing and cloud computing and with a remote, mobile or dispersed workforce. This adds to the complexity of building a flexible business-ready network architecture.

The ‘Network Architectures & Strategies' workshop examined current and future strategies and tactics, lay bare the myths, the challenges and the costs and rubber-stamped the solutions that work for enterprises today.

The ‘Network Architectures & Strategies' workshop was conceived and organised by the Corporate IT Forum and attended by ten network, infrastructure and security professionals/strategists. Attending members came from six prominent organisations representing a cross-section of industry sectors including county council, fast food, international law, pharmaceuticals, recruitment and retail.
