Service Management is a consistently popular topic amongst members of The Forum and was voted the second most important business strategy in the 2011 Corporate Strategy Survey.  This Reality Checker compares the maturity of Service Management from 2009 through to 2011.

Summary

Key findings show that ITIL is still the preferred framework but that version 3 is not an automatic step from version 2; a reducing number of organisations are training their staff at an ITIL Foundation level. Contributing organisations represent an annual IT spend of £9.62 billion and employ just fewer than 1 million people.
