Asset Management Strategies

With IT infrastructure becoming more complex, encompassing virtualisation and consumerisation within the workplace, it is clearly becoming more difficult for organisations to monitor what is being used where and on what.  Organisations have clearly stated their strategies and drivers with Asset Management in this latest Reality Checker.

Summary

Organisations with a mature asset management function have been able to prove through the use of tools and dedicated resource that real cost savings can be made and risks greatly reduced with high levels of compliancy achieved.

Throughout August and September 2011 The Corporate IT Forum conducted a Reality Checker survey.   Key findings show that Asset Management continues to be kept in-house; laptops are replaced most frequently and an increase in manual licence verification has been seen.  Contributing organisations represent an annual IT spend of £6.2 billion and employ over 760,000 people.
