tISS: Security Strategies & Policy |
|
Standards and data are where organisations are focusing their efforts.
Summary
As the threat landscape changes and users become more savvy to the value of the assets and data they use, keeping one step ahead is a continual challenge. Hand in hand with this comes the responsibility to ensure that the business can continue to operate and grow without being stifled by the controls and governance needed for a secure organisation.
Recent discussions amongst the tISS membership have highlighted the ongoing issues surrounding data, policy and control. This survey will allow organisations to understand how they compare to others in similar and contrasting sectors and how security spend is changing.
Throughout July and August 2011 The Corporate IT Forum conducted a Reality Checker survey which received 53 responses from over 35 organisations. Key findings show that tISS members are focusing on data security and standards, budgets are not changing and are, on average, less than 5% of the main IT budget. Contributing organisations represent an annual IT spend of £4.9 billion and employ over 670,000 people.
