Collaboration: Knowledge Sharing & Usage |
|
Summary
Collaboration can be a lot of fun for users, especially with the rise of social media, but for IT organisations there can be significant risks and pitfalls. The workshop delegates discussed their definitions of collaboration and their key challenges in using collaboration technologies, and also provided a forum to share best practice around collaboration.
Many of the organisations represented use SharePoint or Lotus Notes for collaboration but find it challenging to move on from using these tools as simply document management tools. There is also a significant challenge around integrating these tools with new applications and technologies around social media, telepresence and web collaboration."The Corporate IT Forum is a fantastic level check, free of vendor sell and consultancy hype. I like the open sharing of experience…"
"We get valuable knowledge and experience from members of The Corporate IT Forum. This helps us to make better and informed decisions to reach our business goals…"
"The knowledge from other people on what they are doing/have done is invaluable to my team"
"The workshop validated the marketplace for supplier apps; participants were of a uniformly high standard; personally, I value highly the ethos of the Forum in the fact that it is supplier independent"
