Business Continuity: Risk, Planning, Testing & Governance |
|
Summary
Business continuity represents an ongoing issue for IT professionals, despite the fact that in many cases the business of business continuity may only partially impact IT systems and processes. IT executives are still spearheading business continuity policy in many organisations, alongside disaster recovery policy.
In a tough economic climate, securing senior level 'buy-in' for something that may potentially never be used is a tough challenge, but IT executives report greater understanding of business continuity issues, and an increased awareness of risk management has brought about more interest in business continuity.
The Corporate IT Forum members shared a variety of techniques for selling business continuity to the board, as well as suggestions on how technology can be employed to improve and streamline business continuity and disaster recovery processes.
