tISS: eCrime - The Threat Landscape

Download this Executive Summary from this Corporate IT Forum discussion focussing on eCrime.

Cybercrime is a real and measurable threat to the UK economy and estimated to cost UK businesses £21bn annually. Information security professionals are tasked with protecting the business against attacks from the outside whilst keeping a watchful eye on internal activity that might signify an insider threat.

There is, therefore, a requirement to not only source reliable and relevant threat intelligence, but also to relate this back to the business in order to gain senior approval and policy change. Whilst many regulated industries find the sources of information available to them and the prospect of fines are enough to apply an appropriate level of security, organisations not affected by compliance struggle to find accurate information, fast, and to raise the profile of cyber security within the enterprise.
