CPI Best Practice Workshop: Costing and Benchmarking IT in a world of Service Catalogues, Outsourcers and the Cloud

Output

Summary

With greater use of service providers, solutions delivered via the Cloud, and with IT departments increasingly using Service Catalogues to deliver services, the pressing question is how to efficiently cost, charge and benchmark these services? Is the business receiving value?

How do you allocate costs to services, such as email and the desktop, or ERP applications and processing an order?  How do you define and benchmark appropriate KPIs?

The range is enormous but the principles and issues are common.

These are just some of the questions which members will be addressing at this year's CPI Best Practice Discussion workshop.

The day will consist of a morning discussion and lunch open to the whole Forum community, and an afternoon session for CPI members only.

This year for the first time, CPI is opening the doors of its annual workshop to the wider Forum community, so do take advantage of this opportunity to learn how you can introduce better costing methods and ways of evaluating performance.

In the afternoon, CPI subscribers will go on to discuss the specific application of costing methods to enhance the CPI process, as well as cover other CPI issues.

Objectives

Forum Members will be better placed to meet the needs of customers for IT services and transparent value for money.

CPI members will have the added benefit of reviewing their use of benchmarking to get the most benefit from the service and make a difference in their organisation.
