Delivering Business Value

Delivering value to the business has always been central to the aims of IT departments, perhaps never more so than in the current economic climate. This award recognises the achievements of IT projects that have delivered Business Value in these changing times. Due to its popularity, this category will recognise the efforts in the private and public sectors separately.
Judging Criteria
The judges will be looking for:
- The submission which demonstrates an outstanding improvement in Business Value through one or a combination of:
- delivery of IT projects with a demonstrable full realisation of proposed benefits and/or a high return on investment
- delivery of IT projects which greatly improve Business Value through innovation, service delivery, functionality or agility
Attention will be given to the project in the context of the organisation’s size, the overall improvement in Business Value delivered and how it was achieved, with particular emphasis on longer term sustainable change.

PizzaExpress - Customer Insight
The Customer Insight project has revolutionised the way promotions are governed in the hospitality sector, moving from one-size-fits-all promotions, to targeted campaigns based upon customer behaviour and local restaurant needs.
The system has replaced paper promotional codes and the labour intensive systems associated with them.

PizzaExpress - Stock and Cash at PizzaExpress
The replacement of the existing stock and cash system in Pizza express was the largest project undertaken by them as it involved not only a systems replacement in their 370 sites but also new back of house systems, new cabling, as well as the major changes to operational processes.

Schroders - Book of Record Project
This project provided a new back office platform for Schroders that is a key component of their global integrated application architecture for the next 10 – 15 years. The project delivered substantial financial benefits along with significant improvements to organisational structure and reporting.

"The vision was simply to design and deliver the ultimate global desktop and laptop PC delivery and support platform using a combination of technology, innovation and process. Given many years experience of delivering and supporting PC's globally in a manner already recognised externally as “Best of Breed"
