Developing a flexible, responsive business - what does it mean for a business (not just IT) to be Agile in its approach?

Summary:

Combining IT and business methods to create an agile, competitive organisation is a challenge for many senior corporate IT professionals. Agile companies have converged their business and IT worlds and consistently exhibit superior revenue growth and net margins relative to their industry groups. What are the strategic considerations surrounding the development of 'Organisational Agility'?

Moving on from Agile development it is important to understand what the next steps are and how to take them. How much architecture is enough, and how can you tell? What is needed to ensure agile developments fit together architecturally? Is an integrated agile innovation approach needed (alongside agile strategy, agile architecture, agile governance and agile PPM)?

Objectives:

Join this workshop to share experience with peers from other organisations - how have they approached the development of an Agile Organisation and succeeded.

Who should attend:

Senior corporate IT professionals, strategists and managers responsible for IT strategies in architecture, infrastructure and service management. (Note – this workshop is focussing on the agility of organisations, rather than ‘Agile’ as a development methodology).

Agenda:

The final agenda will be developed through consultation amongst delegates - provisional discussion areas include:

  • Defining Organisational Agility
  • IT and the Business, Organisational Design, & culture
  • Agility in strategy development and Architecture
  • Governance and Business cases
  • Agility in supplier management
  • Transition
