The Corporate IT Forum is running an online webex to discuss the tools and techniques used to measure and track Data Centres.
Summary:
In December 2009, The Efficient Data Centres' workshop investigated how delegates were approaching the challenge of reducing resource usage while continuing to meet service requirements. One of the key issues that came out of the event was measurement. Delegates believed that measuring could be used to successfully prove efficiency gains and build a base to work on.
Variation in technologies and IT services makes evaluation and analysis of these metrics and comparison complicated. The fundamental questions are what are you measuring? What should you be measuring and what tools are you using?
